Got Myself a Mini Van for the Summer…and a bunch of likes

Hi Accented Family.

I have improved on my living standard. I have managed to buy that mini van I had my eye on for a few months. It’s not the exact one, but it’s similar to the one I was fantasizing about. It’s the stow and go 2008 Chrysler âTown and Country. I feel like I have bought a brand new house, because there’s so much space after you stow away the seats. I put a one person mattress in the back so I can sleep comfortably at night.

Now is the time I should really focus on building on my dream financially, healthily and mentally. I wrote three ebooks for Amazon Kindle, but had to unpublish it, because of a lack of skills I needed to complete it successfully. This time I’m making sure I’m getting all the help in successfully completing my Kindle ebooks. If I want to make this work, I need to start with my routine early in the morning and for that to happen, I need to sleep early. It’s doable, because I’ve done it in the past.

I’ve started tackling many tasks that have me questioning sometimes if I’m not taking on too much, but it’s all totally doable. Keep on keeping in is what needs to be at play at the end of the day.

Finally, I want to thank each and everyone of you who has supported me and still are. It means a lot.

Till next time

I love mini van living, but I’ve hit a stumbling block along the way. It would be much appreciated if you could help me make that dream a reality.

Yay, I’ve Been Reinstated!!!

Hi Accented Family.

So you may not have heard that my license got revoked three weeks ago and to be honest, I did not expect to get reinstated this soon. If you want to know how my license got revoked, you can click this link to read it, but for now I can’t tell you enough how happy I am that I got reinstated.

Everyday I focused on taking it one step at a time. I bought myself a mountain bike to ride to work. I’m very grateful for my boss who at times would have me put my bicycle in the back of their jeep and drive me home to my car where I would sleep. I made some youtube videos to document how I was doing. You can have a look at it here. It was interesting having to follow the instructions to get reinstated. I needed to do the written test exam which meant I had to study the Class D driver’s study book. Then I had to pay my $30 reinstatement fee and on top of that, apply for a driver’s license. I also needed to have an authorized representative of my insurance company sign a form which was insane. All this was done having to ride on my mountain bike in sub zero temperatures to and from places. There’s something about the perserverance of the human spirit. When you know you are the only person that can help you through this, you do whatever it takes to get through and that’s exactly what I did. I never gave up. I still have a lot more to accomplish though. Having driving previledges is truly something not to abuse.

As some of you know my car is near the point of being towed off to a scrap yard, but I need it to carry me through just a couple more months before I can buy a mini van to start my adventures with van living. I’ve moved out of my apartment to live in my car to avoid having to worry about rent and utilities each month. So if you would like to please support me by donating to my GoFundMe project, please feel free to do so. Every penny I get will go into my car to fix it so I can stay mobile. It is the only means for me to lay my head at night.

Ta ta for now

Revoked, Homeless, Broken Car…What next?

Hi Accented Family.

Yep, you read the title right, but it doesn’t sound as bad as it appears to be.

You see, about two months ago I decided to live in my car, because I needed to find a way to not think about the worry of rent and utilities all the time. I’d be working seasonal jobs which meant I could not sustain a steady income. I do have one “guaranteed” part time job that’s always a joy to work at. I’m a Personal Care Assistant for children with autism. So being single with that amount of a paycheck on hand is doable. However, it is not enough to live in an apartment with all other expenses to hold together. I’m always having to look for odd jobs which does not always come into fruition. I figured it would be best living in my car which is exiting to me. The idea came when I was fired from my last job of six years and in the same week my apartment lease came to an end. I realized that I had nowhere to go, but to sleep in my car for a while. I had no problem with it, because this would mean I would have time to apply for jobs and perhaps write a book of my experience while being in my car. By the way, my car got totalled in December of 2017 and had to buy this almost scrap yard quality 94 Toyota Corolla.

This time I am in a similar position with the exception of having that part time job which is awesome. There is another twist to all this. My license got revoked for failing to produce my car insurance to the officer who pulled me over. I figured it was no big deal as I only had to follow and obey orders to fix the situation. It turned out I did have a valid insurance, but it was still registered with my previous car that got totalled in December of 2017. I had forgotten to register it with my current car. I was then told to call my insurance company and have them send an updated insurance to the Department of Vehicle and Safety. It wasn’t as easy as it sounded, because I was told to either present my case to a judge which I did, but forgot to show up. Having ADHD is not really helpful in situations like these. So I decided to pay a $286 fine online. A week or so later, I got a letter saying that my license will be revoked because I did not show up for my hearing. I later found out it doesn’t mean if you pay your fine that they’d OK it.

So here I am. I’ve since bought a mountain bike to go to work which is an 11 mile ride, but last night after a two week stealth living in the Walmart parking lot, officer James Greggs left me a note saying I need to remove my car or else it will be towed away. Apparently you can only sleep in the parking lot for about two weeks or so before they tell you to leave. Of course I did not know this. So I decided to call officer Greggs to explain that I could not drive because of my revoked license. I ended up speaking to a different officer who told me that I could get someone to drive my car to a different location. I could only think of my friend who lives around the corner from Walmart, but he was already asleep. So I took matters into my own hands and drove all the way to my boss’ house. It was one of the most anxiety filled moments ever.

I finally made it to my boss and now my car is parked in their yard. It is the family who has the children with autism that I work for. They are the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

So for the next couple of weeks I need to work on getting reinstated while living there. I will need to go back to Walmart to get my mountain bike, because it’s locked up by the bike rack next to the entrance.

There’s a few requirements I need to make before getting reinstated. So far I passed my written test license exam and paid a $30 reinstatement fee. I still have to have my current insurance signed by my insurance company and then only can I send it along with all other required documents to the DVS to get reinstated. The car I have is also dying, so that is an added worry, because I need it to “house” me. The left wheel bearings are done, the tie rods are failing and the serpentine belt is cracked. My plan was to have this car keep me through it all until I’d have enough money to buy a more reliable car. Unfortunately it didn’t pan out this way.

So with blog I’m hoping someone out there may be kind enough to support me if it’s within your means.

PS: I would like everyone to know that I love living in my car, because I have the freedom to not stress about rent and utilities. It’s just unfortunate that my license are revoked and my car is not stable enough to have me save money in time for a more reliable car.

Hi Accented Family.

It’s a nice 28 degree Sunday afternoon where I am and I’m feeling lazy, but very motivated to buy my new car soon. Hard work pays off and it’s evident with showing consistency.

I have been travelling on my mountain bike to and from work and other places just to keep my routines and schedules going. It’s been tough at times, but I’m glad to know that it’s only temporary. Last Friday I travelled from Minneapolis to Buffalo by bus and bicycle. I took two busses from Bloomington to Maple Grove and for the next 28 miles I biked from Maple Grove to Buffalo which took over five hours to complete. I’m not a professional rider, but I got it done nonetheless. Keep in mind it was VERY COLD!

Well, I can’t wait to get into that new car and get rid of this 94 Toyota Corolla. It has taken me from A to B through thick and thin and for that I’m very thankful.

Next week I should have my car license reinstated as I finally got a letter stating I can get reinstated the day after I pay a $30 reinstatement fee. That is if I pass my written test exam also which is also a requirement. For those of you who don’t know, I got my license revoked for failing to produce my insurance and now I have to go through this process. Yikes!

Fingers cross.

Live the Laptop Lifestyle

Hi Accented Family.

So here I am stranded and nowhere to go. I’ve had my car license revoked and I’m having to hustle on my mountain bike to the store, my job, the library and other miscellaneous places in sub zero temperatures. Rewind 20 years and I would never have guessed I’d be so determined to straighten out my life and make it work.

Of course we didn’t have technology as advanced as it is today. So I guess the reason for my determined outlook on life is because information can be found at the tip of our fingers and this excited me. You know the saying that goes “Survival of the Fittest“? Well, technology has changed that. Even though I have ADHD, I can still find things out there that can help me. Right now I need to get my license back so I can drive again and I can easily look up a written test app online, download it and study for my class D exam.

Here’s the deal breaker. I still struggle with appointments and schedules, but there are apps that help me tremendously yet. So not so much of a deal breaker then, right?

So to conclude, I live the laptop lifestyle and doing it without being able to drive. I stay virtually informed while doing whatever it takes to stay ahead of the game. Before you know it, I’ll have my license back and I’ll be fully back in the game. As long as I am positive, healthy, full of love and have good energy, I’m good.

I’ll keep you all informed about the status if of my driver’s license .

So until next time, ta ta.

Happy Easter!!

Hi Accented Family.

Hope all is well. We got some snow again and man did it snow. It’s late afternoon and I’m just relaxing and taking it easy. Some of you may have enjoyed most of the day already.

As some of you know, my car license got revoked and I’m not able to drive for another 28 days. So I decided to buy myself an 18 speed Roadmaster mountain bike so I can ride to work which is 13 miles long. I’m glad I bought it, because it’s totally easy to handle and you can change gears on a whim.

Today I have to play tennis with my Meetup group, but I don’t think it’ll happen as I’m not able to get a ride there. It was poor planning on my side. Better luck next time. Well, maybe I can still make it, who knows. We’ll see.

I don’t have much to say today except to say have a good Easter and a safe rest of the weekend.

My Car License Has Been Revoked. What Now?

Hi Accented family.

Yes, it has been a tough situation for me since finding out that my license will be revoked as of 03/28/2018.

About a month ago I was pulled over for not being able to produce my car insurance to the officer. I could not find it. So the officer took an expired car insurance of mine which I could find, called up the company, but never got a response from them. He then told me to go into the county government center to produce it. I felt confident, because what could go wrong, right? Well, not everything went right. I realized that after finding my unexpired insurance, it was still registered in my old car. So after calling my car insurance company to have them fix the issue, they corrected the details by having it corrected after the offense had occurred.

Long story short, I either had to pay the amount or state my case with the judge. I decided to make an appointment to have a court case, but it turned out I missed the appointment, tried to pay the fine online and got a letter from the county government center stating that my car license will be revoked for a month. Now I need to take a class D written test which I think should be the easy part (fingers cross).

I’m bummed out, but it shouldn’t really be that much of an issue, because I will now have to make the process enjoyable and once I succeed in doing that, I’ll be able to hyper focus on the task at hand. ADHD comes in handy with things like this. It is the positive aspect about the disorder. Thank goodness.

If you have ADHD, keep in mind you have more within you than you think. Realize it grab hold and run with it.

Constantly Improve on Yourself.

Hi Accented Family

As a person who has ADHD, I find it hard to maintain focus on projects that seem mundane and often times important.

I’ve written 3 books so far and I constantly have to either improve or modify the contents, because it gets “boring” after a while. Sure I hyperfocus on certain ideas, but I lose interest the more uninteresting bits pile up. I’m in the process on getting help rewriting my work. It’s a slow process which is a constant reminder that it’s necessary, because I’ll reap the benefits in the long run.
